“MORE THAN A PASSION”
(CDA) – Universidad de Chile
Synthetic enamel and spray paint on wall
39,4 x 2,35 m
When they called me from Universidad de Chile to talk about the possibility of doing this project, I quickly visualized two things: my late uncle Patricio (chuncho at heart) and the BLUE color. This is the color I used in its widest possible range to give life to a passionate and family-centered crowd of soccer fans, which goes back generations, while at the same time paying tribute to time with elements such as the university’s main building or old blazons, or red colors that work as points of attraction. The mural is located at CDA, where the training fields and Universidad de Chile club’s office are, in La Cisterna commune.
UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE TODAY CELEBRATES 91 YEARS OF INSTITUTIONAL LIFE
At the student club they explain that the mural is a tribute to Universidad de Chile fan’s transversality and its followers’ massiveness. It also values its relationship to the University, whose headquarters are also pictured.
